So this last weekend I got a migraine and thought I was seriously going to have a brain aneurysm. It was pretty bad and the thing is if you haven't had a migraine then you probably are just thinking back to what your last headache felt like and calling me a huge wuss. Well that isn't so... I promise. Here is how the weekend went. Day 1: I woke up Friday morning with it and grabbed the quilt and pillow and went into the closet where the least amount of light is. Mike needed to go to work so he took care of the girls as long as he could. I think I lasted like 30 minutes before calling Mike crying. A co-workers wife, Julie, came over and watched the girls for me the WHOLE day. Huge help... huge thank you to her! So I was able to come out when it got dark and felt well just long enough to get the girls bathed and in bed and for some other friends, Quinton and Kara, to come by so Mike and Quinton could give me a blessing. Thank you to them as well! I lasted about 20 minutes before having to go back to bed. The migraine came back and I thought I was dying again. Day 2: Oh yeah, so I was supposed to drive to Cali today with Jessica and Nicki Christensen to go to Disneyland. Got my phone and had some missed calls, voicemail, and texts from their family letting me Mac wanted to go too. I was so sad cause it would have been so fun and now I had to ruin it. SO I called Barbara, mom Christensen, to let her know what was going on and that i couldnt go. Being the wonderful woman she is she helped me to realize I needed to find a Dr. and I needed help that day so Mike could take me to the Dr's and go to work. She and Mike (her Mike) came down from Glendale and she took over the girls so Mike could take care of me. My Mike asked if I wanted to go to a Dr and I said I just wanted to be put to sleep. So we went to the urgent care and they gave me a shot in the butt of dopamine and anti nausea meds and then told us if it doesn't go away I need to go to the ER for a CT. On we went with two bottles of meds. We got home and Mike went to work and Barb and her Mike continued to take care of the girls wonderfully. I hardly ever heard them and was able to sleep. My Mike got home and took over and the Christensen's were able to go home to and empty house cause their kids went to Disneyland without us! Thanks to Mike and Barb for their help. Dont know what we would have done without them. Day 3: Mike took care of EVERYTHING! He cleaned the house, fed the girls, took amazing care of me... seriously I couldn't ask for more which means a lot cause when ever I get sick I want my mom. Mike took care of me as good as my mom.... hopefully he knows what a huge complement that is. So I ended Sunday feeling better. By Monday I was able to function. I got lightheaded a lot but I could take care of my girls.
Moral of this huge long story... Friends are important, Families (Christensen's) are life savers, and an amazing husband is hard to come by so if you got one keep him!! I will always look back at what Mike did for me this weekend and know how much he really loves me. I am so dang lucky!
