Is there a manual??

Seriously I don't know what the heck I am doing as far as potty training goes. It is ridiculous that Kylee is still not potty trained. It is obviously my fault but seriously this is my 4Th attempt. I am determined to succeed this time. Day one was good with only 1 1/2 accidents. Today was awful. She went in the potty once. She told me she was tired and so I told her if she wanted to lay down she needed to go potty so she wouldn't wet her bed while she slept. Well after 5 minutes of no noise in the bathroom this is what I found. She was asleep... snoring and everything. How is it she wont go potty on the potty but she will fall asleep?? Something isn't right about that. At least I got a real good laugh and a fond memory of potty training.

Here is a little video of Payton hanging out waiting and playing while Kylee is crazy on the potty. I am glad someone is having fun with this whole experience.

We've had a break through!

One of Payton's bottom teeth officially broke through her gums and the one beside it is not too far behind. This is the best pic I could get of it. You have to click on it and zoom to see somewhat of the tooth. She wont let me touch her mouth so this is as good as it gets. I really hope she didn't get used to being crabby cause I miss my happy girl. Here is another pic of her rocking on her knees. She now goes into sitting position from this position.

7 MONTHS!!

Payton Ann

Payton is getting big so fast! She is such a good baby. She started has started getting on her knees and rocking a little. Her daddy likes to work with her on this kind of stuff and I avoid it so she doesn't get mobile. I like to sit her down and not have to worry about what she could get into. It is good someone works with her otherwise she would still not be rolling over or sitting up. I love having a baby and with how fast time is flying she wont be one much longer. She is going to be saying "no, i do it by myself " sooner than I would like. I go back and forth this past week or so on whether or not she is getting her bottom teeth. She is getting them and she is crabby. Both bottom ones are coming in together. I hope she gets them fast so she will be my happy little baby again. She loves eating and I have been sharing more of my food with her lately. Just breads and drinks and Icee's and stuff like that. She loves it. We love her so much!

Pulling my weight

So as you all know Mike always works hard on our house. I try to decorate but I am not that good. I am proud of my picture wall... he could have hung it better but what are you going to do. The new thing I try to do to help is planting in the yard. Here are some of the flowers I planted in the yard a couple weeks ago and the potted flowers I did yesterday.

Can you believe people say that Arizona is all rock? I say nay! You just have to look closely!

And last but not least.... My picture wall.

Kids!!

So the other day Kylee and I went with Grandpapa to Home Depot. Kylee got in her car seat which is right behind the passenger seat. Then Grandpapa got in and she says " Grandpapa what did you do to your hair??" She said it with genuine concern. I guess she saw his balding spot and thought he did it to himself. She said," Papa why you pull your hair out?" I Thought it was funny... hopefully some of you do.
P.S. The picture above is not my dad cause he would disown me if I did that. This is just the closest I found to what Kylee saw.

Six Month Check Up

Payton had her check up and she did really well... only because there were no shots! We postponed her shots to next visit. She is such a happy girl. She showed the Dr. all her tricks... she sat up, stood up with help, touched her toes then stood back up, she pushed her self up real high while on her tummy, she yelled a little, and laughed at her sister jumping around. She is 28 inches, over 95th percentile, 16.5 lbs, 50th percentile, and her head is in the 75th percentile. She is tall. She is doing real well. She has been trying to get her bottom left tooth but it is taking forever. I can see the white spots of the tooth and feel a big bump but the tooth just wont come through. She is a little crabby about it but she is sleeping even more so I don't know which is better, that or a little less sleep and happy baby. Either way we love her and are lucky to have her sweet little spirit in our home.

My Friends

" When you drop your soda on the floor in the middle of the mall, a friend will not only help you clean it up but will offer to share hers or get you another one.
When you say or do something stupid, a friend will say it wasn't as dumb as some of the things he's said or done himself...whether its true or not.
When you trip and fall, friend wont judge you or remark about how you should watch where you step. She'll just help you back to your feet, no questions asked."
-Martha Bolton
The "official" friends Book

So I was glancing through this little book and loved all these little quotes. I really liked this one cause it reminds me of all the wonderful friends I have had in my life and the friend I would like to be. Some I have lost contact with but it doesn't mean I don't still appreciate the time we had. I really only remember mainly 2 BFF's while growing up. We had a blast playing dolls and dress up and anything else we could think of (clubs). I had awesome friends through out high school who seriously are the only reason I like to think back to those years. I love that i was able to take a couple of them with me in my next chapter of life... living on my own in Utah! Again, fun times and memories. My short single life in Cali after Utah made me a friends that I still have now. She and I had so much in common it was crazy... we were saying I love you after the first date and didn't even care what people thought! Then I met my bestest friend ever. He gets enough praise so I will move on. He did bring some new friends (family) that really make me feel like I am cared for. Then came Utah again. Man we had a lot of amazing friends. We started out with one couple and didn't see any reason to hangout with anyone else. They are awesome people and we could always count on them. I loved that I could be my crazy self and still be invited to the next Sunday dinner. We then learned that having one best friend couple didn't mean we couldn't have more. We had some friends that had a little boy the same age as our girl and decided why not bring a new friendship for ourselves and our daughter. We made great friends right away and felt as if we had been friends forever. We even got a set of wonderful Utah grandparents for Kylee. Amazing families in Utah. Then we did a hard thing and had to leave those awesome friends in Utah to start a life in Arizona. I was nervous I would be alone in my apartment never knowing anyone but I was wrong. We made better friends with past friends. They got us through our transition to Arizona. They showed us the ropes which I am extremely grateful for. Don't know if we would have fallen in love with AZ as soon as we did if it wasn't for them. Then we moved to our house and got in a amazing ward with so many possibilities of friends. Our family already has made friends with a family that we pray we will never lose. I love friends I can admire and learn from but they don't know I do... might creep them out :) Mike has introduced us to old mission friends and were not only able to get employment but a whole group of friends. The WHOLE family is awesome (there is a lot of them). I love having friends from my childhood just 45 min away. They are my family away from family! Speaking of family, how blessed am I to have 4 best friends and a daddy always there from beginning to end. Well, the point of this post was just to thank the person that has given me all these wonderful people in my life. To the friends that read my blog, a big thank you to you for putting up with me as a spastic child and now with my whole crazy family. You guys have excepted me for who I am ... little messy, unorganized, indecisive, a dork... you know! I love you all. If you ever need me please call me anytime. til then ...adios!

F to the H to the E

This last Monday Mike had a day off so we decided to have a fun Family Home Evening with the Orvin Bunch! As always tons-o-fun. We had a added bonus ... Paigee (my sister) was here to enjoy the night. So we started the night with Mike's Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches. One word AMAZING... no better than that... PHENOMENAL... better than that ... I cant even think of a word. If you have had the Philly's at Italian Place in Utah then you know what a good Philly taste like... well Mike's is better than that. Ask the Orvin's if you think I am bias. Anyways, we then went to the water and ice for some shave ice and ice cream. Yummy! Next we headed to the Mesa Visitors Center to see the Reflections of Christ exhibit ( http://www.reflectionsofchrist.org/ ) It was a beautiful display. Can't wait until they are for sale. We then went on the temple grounds and attempted to take some pictures. These are the ones that turned out semi normal.

My baby is 6 Months!

So Payton is 6 months now and getting more and more fun each day. I am horrible and forgot to post her rolling over milestone but she started doing that around the end of Feb. She got real good around the middle of March. Now she is sitting up .... pretty good but not perfect. She has great posture. Her Doctors appointment isn't until the 2nd of May so we wont know until then how big she is. She loves food. She always wants whatever you are putting in your mouth. She is very handsy so you cant let her get too close or she will snatch it right up. She loves to talk lately and our favorite (not really) is her new high, really high, pitch scream. She loves to hear herself. Her are some cute pics of her sitting up... excuse the runny nose.

Here is Payton watching Baby Einstein. She loved it for about 20 mins.

Feeding the Ducks

So we went to the park with the Orvin's to go feed the ducks and we had tons of fun. There were like 15 ducklings. So so cute! We also got to see the boy ducks trying to show off to the ladies and wrestle in the water. Kennedy was looking oh so cute with her sun glasses so Payton had to try them on. Here are pics of the cute girls and the mommies and their kiddlings...

Then of course there is the bestest friends of all of us... Grant and Kylee! Kylee always has fun with her boy that is a friend.

Shabby Apple

I am hosting a Shabby Apple party at my house on May 1st at 7:00pm. This is a clothing line that makes modest dresses. All are invited! I know most people that read my blog are not in Arizona but if you are let me know. For those of you that aren't feel free to check out http://www.shabbyapple.com/ and place an order at the party cause I think that will get you free shipping. I will let you know on that. If you are in AZ and plan on coming check out the site and let me know if there is a specific style and size you want at the party and I will request it, but do so by April 19th. I know they are a bit pricey but for a modest dress that doesn't require a undershirt... I think they are totally worth it. Email me if you have questions... hdipadova@msn.com.

Update: You get free shipping through my party!!

Big Girl in a Highchair

So I finally got the highchair out. It so funny cause with Kylee I got the chair the first thought of feeding her but with Payton I waited til I was killing my back leaning over the bouncer trying to feed her. It is so true about how you are anxious to do things with your first and then your second, third, forth, so on you just wait til it i convenient for you. poor neglected kids! Well, here are some pics of Payton in her chair. She is so funny cause she will usually take a bite of food and then either lean to the front or side and bite the chair then come back to you for more food. She is such a fun girl. We are happy to have her!

What's Poppin.. or not!

SO Kylee fell out of bed on Monday morning, March 31st, and hurt her arm. I noticed she favored it for the next couple days but thought it might go away. Wed Mike and I took her to the Dr.s and they said it looked like her elbow was dislocated which is very common for her age group. The Dr. tried to pop it back into place but couldn't which was not common. He sent her home with a sling and said he was going to submit her xrays to radiology to see if they could see a fracture that he couldn't. He called us later that day and said there is no fracture and to bring her in the next day so he could try to pop it back again. Well we went and still no pop. He said just to watch it and see how it goes cause it could be a sprain and that will just get better with time. Here we are day 12 and she is a lot better but still can bend it or straighten it all the way. I am going to get through this weekend and them if she still cant have full range I will have to take her to an Orthopedic Dr. We shall see!

A Weekend in the Closet!!

So this last weekend I got a migraine and thought I was seriously going to have a brain aneurysm. It was pretty bad and the thing is if you haven't had a migraine then you probably are just thinking back to what your last headache felt like and calling me a huge wuss. Well that isn't so... I promise. Here is how the weekend went. Day 1: I woke up Friday morning with it and grabbed the quilt and pillow and went into the closet where the least amount of light is. Mike needed to go to work so he took care of the girls as long as he could. I think I lasted like 30 minutes before calling Mike crying. A co-workers wife, Julie, came over and watched the girls for me the WHOLE day. Huge help... huge thank you to her! So I was able to come out when it got dark and felt well just long enough to get the girls bathed and in bed and for some other friends, Quinton and Kara, to come by so Mike and Quinton could give me a blessing. Thank you to them as well! I lasted about 20 minutes before having to go back to bed. The migraine came back and I thought I was dying again. Day 2: Oh yeah, so I was supposed to drive to Cali today with Jessica and Nicki Christensen to go to Disneyland. Got my phone and had some missed calls, voicemail, and texts from their family letting me Mac wanted to go too. I was so sad cause it would have been so fun and now I had to ruin it. SO I called Barbara, mom Christensen, to let her know what was going on and that i couldnt go. Being the wonderful woman she is she helped me to realize I needed to find a Dr. and I needed help that day so Mike could take me to the Dr's and go to work. She and Mike (her Mike) came down from Glendale and she took over the girls so Mike could take care of me. My Mike asked if I wanted to go to a Dr and I said I just wanted to be put to sleep. So we went to the urgent care and they gave me a shot in the butt of dopamine and anti nausea meds and then told us if it doesn't go away I need to go to the ER for a CT. On we went with two bottles of meds. We got home and Mike went to work and Barb and her Mike continued to take care of the girls wonderfully. I hardly ever heard them and was able to sleep. My Mike got home and took over and the Christensen's were able to go home to and empty house cause their kids went to Disneyland without us! Thanks to Mike and Barb for their help. Dont know what we would have done without them. Day 3: Mike took care of EVERYTHING! He cleaned the house, fed the girls, took amazing care of me... seriously I couldn't ask for more which means a lot cause when ever I get sick I want my mom. Mike took care of me as good as my mom.... hopefully he knows what a huge complement that is. So I ended Sunday feeling better. By Monday I was able to function. I got lightheaded a lot but I could take care of my girls.
Moral of this huge long story... Friends are important, Families (Christensen's) are life savers, and an amazing husband is hard to come by so if you got one keep him!! I will always look back at what Mike did for me this weekend and know how much he really loves me. I am so dang lucky!

Crazy Flower

So our friends little boy Carter was playing outside the other day and he came in with this cool flower. It is from a vine that is hanging over the wall into our backyard. I went out that day and didn't see anymore so just thought that was it. I went out again a couple days later and there were a bunch. The longer I looked at them the creepier they looked to me. If a kid goes missing in my backyard I am blaming it on these flowers. They are really cool cause the petals alternate purple and white and then they have these dark purple spiky centers. The very middle is what creeps me out. Anyways... here are some pics!
